Mr. Jin Roy Ryu is Chairman and CEO of Poongsan Group, one of the largest manufacturers of metal products in the world. The Korean government awarded Mr. Ryu the Order of Industrial Service Merit, Gold Tower in 2005 and the Order of Civil Merit, Moran (Peony) Medal in 2012 for his distinguished service of his efforts to enhance Korea’s standing within the global community. More recently, Mr. Ryu played an instrumental role in bringing The President’s Cup Golf Tournament to Korea in 2015, and chaired the Tournament Organization Committee. Mr. Ryu is actively involved the leadership of numerous business organizations as Vice Chair of the Korea-U.S. Economic Council, the Korea Defense Industry Association, the Federation of Korean Industries, and the Korea International Trade Association. Additionally, Mr. Ryu supports a number of philanthropic organizations worldwide, serving as Board Chair of the Pearl S. Buck Foundation Korea; Vice Chair of Korea Mecenat Association, the Korea-France Club, America’s Promise, the World Golf Foundation’s First Tee program, the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library Foundation, and the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership at the City University of New York.
