Founded in 2003, the Korean American Community Foundation has grown to become a trusted source of philanthropy within the Korean American community and beyond. KACF has sought out underserved KA social service agencies to support, often serving as the first source of outside funding they received. KACF has disbursed over $600,000 in multi-year grants over the past five years to diverse organizations serving the disadvantaged segments of the Korean- and Asian-American communities in the greater New York area in programs addressing domestic violence, and those providing much-needed services for the youth, the elderly and others in need.

In 2005, KACF became the very first Korean organization in the world to receive a grant from the prestigious Ford Foundation to spearhead our programs to foster inter- community dialogue and collaboration between the KoreanAmerican community and other ethnic communities and the community at large. Equally important, KACF has been creating a powerful new grassroots movement of philanthropy and volunteerism among Korean-Americans of all generations to become more involved in their communities.
